Food in Atlanta is at it's best FLIP and Urbana

After a week of eating like I was 24 again I can let you all know I will be working out everyday moving forward. However, to start my summer I went out for dinner during Buckhead Restaurant Week. I picked FLIP which by far is a favorite of mine. It's Wednesday night in Atlanta it's hot and sunny and what did I need well of course a burger and shake. Go no where else but FLIP in Buckhead. We walked right in before the rush of dinner and sat out on the patio. I ordered a new drink they have for summer (they have a new menu for each season) a Peach Sangria  it was sweet and so cool. I loved it served with an over flow of dry ice for a smoke effect I loved every sip.  We started with the fried app sampler. It has vodka battered Onion rings, sweet potato tater tots and French fries. And of course all the sauces you may need. My favorite is the Blue Cheese foam.  My date ordered the Chorizo burger with a fried egg on top. I decided to order the burger of the month it's a beef b...

A weekend in Blue Ridge Ga

I can tell you that it has been years since I've taken some time away for my self. Not to visit family but a true weekend away. And I was surprised this past weekend by my boyfriend to do so.  He book a cabin in Blue Ridge Ga at My Mountain cabin rentals. It was beautiful! The mountains are lovely this time of year we had a great cabin at the top of the mountain on the end of the road. It was a three story cabin with two room an open floor plan and a game room. It had two patios and a fantastic hot tub over looking the view.  We spent out first night grilling steaks and drinking cocktails on the patio. Music playing in the background and a beautiful sun set we could not have asked for more.  Saturday morning we got up early and went in to town. There is a downtown area off Main st. You can shop here and even eat and drink. Even with the rain we walked up and down from store to store shopping and enjoying the day. I bought a new leash and collar for my dog in a boutique fo...

Nuevo Laredo Cantina best Mexican in town

Nothing better on a bright and sunny afternoon than a margarita on the rocks and some good company. So this week I decided to go on an adventure and check out Nuevo Laredo Cantina located at 1495 Chattahoochee Ave NW, Atlanta, GA 30318. It's a great little hidden spot in Atlanta that has some of the best Mexican food you can find!  Walked in and got a table in the main dinning   area. Where you will find decor that is Charming and funny. Lots of pictures and some great signs! Chips and fresh salsa hit the table first. The chips are warm and salsa is fresh and spicy! The server came on and took out orders. We ordered margaritas on the rocks w salt now I will tell you the drink to order is the Cadillac margarita it's big and fantastic, but it was a week day so I went with the smaller one still as tasty just smaller!  The serve them by the glass or pitcher and prices start at $6.50.  Now I will have to let you in on a secret if mine. I have a weakness for a Chili R...

Industry Tavern New and Exciting

It's Friday night and all want a place to go eat, drink and wash the week away. And on Friday night I did just that! I decided to try out a new spot in town Industy Tavern off peachtree in Atlanta.  A hidden place by the Hyat in the heart of Atlanta in the Buckhead district.  The front is hard to make out still as not all the signage has bed put up however I loved the glass garage doors that give the restaurant an open fell. We walked in to an open floor plan bar in the middle. And to our surprise a DJ was playing. We made a reservation as I recommend you should do as well. The place is busy.  The host sat us and was very friendly the tables are mostly bar style high tops black napkins and unmatched cutlery very unusall for the area but cute!  The server Chad was very nice offered suggestions and got us drinks quickly. We ordered the risotto ball and meatball small bites. Now while I will say the risotto ball was served to us with a cold inside it was corrected quick...

Atlanta's Dogwood Festival

I love a spring day! I love a spring festival even more and Atlanta (midtown area) really knows how to do this well! Every year they start off spring with the Dogwood Festival in Piedmont park in the heart of Atalanta. And this past weekend it could not have been better. Sun was out the heat rolled in and the clouds stayed away long enough for us to enjoy our spring tradition.  I started the day at Park Tavern restaurant on the fat side of the park I will have to say it is a great place to sit people watch grab a drink and a fantastic meal! The service is always good and so is the food! If you sit on the patio you can look out over the park and on a day like Sunday we got a little sun on our skin. We started out our meal w mimosa's and they treat you well here $14 gets you a bottle of champs and juice! We ordered the lobster king crab and spinach dip w pita chips. While waiting on my friends I sat and watched as people came and went into the park. Our sever was very attentive and a...

BBQ Can Make the Heart Fonder

Now Im sure you have heard the old saying "a way to a mans heart is through his stomach"... Well let me tell you a secret. The same is for women! We love nothing more than a man cooking for us. In my experience it does not happen often. And I personally love it to come home to a house that smells of food and it not be because Im cooking.  Men let me tell you it is very sexy to come home to you doing the work! Now over the weekend I had the pleasure of this happening. Ive been out on a date with a new guy and what do you know I made it to date number 2! And he asked if I wanted to come over to his house so he could cook! What?!?! this is a great idea...He asked me a few questions about my likes and dislikes. And then he was off.  I came over to his place for dinner, around 630. As I walked to the door I could smell the smoker going, the smell was intoxicating! I knock on the door and wait...he opens it and Im knocked over by the smell of meat, garlic, and wine. Mu...

St Patty's Day a day of Green drinks

I'm a girl that always loves a holiday that allows and almost encourages a drink! Love one even more that celebrates food! And St Patty's day does all of those things! I started my weekend at Front Page News in midtown for brunch with some friends! I had a great breakfast if eggs and potatoes what every lady needs after a long night! And of course good company! From there we traveled to Blake's and sat by the window and had a few drinks and laughs taking lots of pictures of all the crazy shirts and outfits around. I have to say it was very funny all the green dye added to the drinks! Turns everything it touches green! The crowd was light for a Sunday but the weather really was not what we would would have wanted. Making the move to Ten around the corner for a change in venue was a nice idea they have a very yummy buffalo dip there it's a must try! Day became night and the crowd started to die down so I took my leave of the city I love to play in and went home.  I stoppe...
