Industry Tavern New and Exciting

It's Friday night and all want a place to go eat, drink and wash the week away. And on Friday night I did just that! I decided to try out a new spot in town Industy Tavern off peachtree in Atlanta.  A hidden place by the Hyat in the heart of Atlanta in the Buckhead district.

The front is hard to make out still as not all the signage has bed put up however I loved the glass garage doors that give the restaurant an open fell. We walked in to an open floor plan bar in the middle. And to our surprise a DJ was playing. We made a reservation as I recommend you should do as well. The place is busy.
The host sat us and was very friendly the tables are mostly bar style high tops black napkins and unmatched cutlery very unusall for the area but cute!
The server Chad was very nice offered suggestions and got us drinks quickly. We ordered the risotto ball and meatball small bites. Now while I will say the risotto ball was served to us with a cold inside it was corrected quickly and several apologies from the server and mangers. Knowing it's a new palace we didn't get upset as things like this will happen.

I the ordered the Lobster roll and my date the sliders. Both fantastic! My roll was fresh baked and the lobster was fresh and sweet. Served with a side of butter and mayo I could not ask for a better combo. The sliders tender and soft served a sweet red sauce. The meatballs made fresh had a bite of herb to them.
We finished the night laughing and people watching as the DJ continued on.

I was told he is there every Friday and Saturday night. I will be going back to try more of the menu. And would say you should as well. Since they have only been open a couple of weeks there is room to grow.
Happy to see a new kid on the block. Hope we get more fresh simple food like this in Atlanta!

Kula the Revolving Sushi Bar

If I say Sushi, what would you say? YES! Is the only correct answer.  I had the pleasure of eating at the newest Sushi place in Doraville this week, called  Kula  it is an international brand, with 400 restaurants in Japan and this is the 13th revolving sushi bar in the US. They have places in California, Texas, and now Georgia.  Hosted by Davo Eda, the Public Relations Manager, he was so kind to invite me in to see the new place. He even let me bring a friend, so of course I brought my favorite lady Callie, to help me eat and take pictures.  We were introduced to Mr. Fresh, it is the plate holder for the conveyor belt, "he" holds the green plates of food and treats. There was a tutorial of how to grab the food from the belt, as well as how to order from the menu and dispose of your plates. Mr. Fresh keeps the food germ free, has a chip in it for timing and every 2 hours he lets a specialists know it is time to throw the food out. This technology helps cut dow

A relationship is like a good chili

On a cold day I love nothing more than a nice bowl of chili. Im sure most of us feel the same. I love getting fresh veggies and a great lean meat and making it myself, letting it cook most of the morning so I have something to warm my belly at night. My chili has lots of layers of flavor to it and changes depending on the products I have available to me at the market.         As I was making chili this week I was thinking about my current single status. And I started laughing...relationships and chili are very similar. Im sure I am not the only person that has thought of this, but I instantly decided this was going to be my next topic! So here we go!         My chili recipe calls for a large pot (I like a dutch oven), to start. I place it on a medium high heat and add oil. I have chopped up a larger white onion and a few cloves of garlic. I add this in and let it cook down till tender. I then add my peppers, now you can chose how hot you want your chili I personally like a spic

Goodbye to a Friend

I'm There are times in your life where it seems you are at someone's going away party. Friends get new jobs, they marry, or even leave for school. All kinds of reasons for a move. Some friends you throw a party some friends you take to a bar and some its a nice dinner. My friend Laurie is moving out of state for a new job. I wanted to give her a foodie night out so I did some research and found a new place Endive Publik House at 1468 Mecaslin St NW, Atlanta, GA 30309.  It's new opened in March and is only open Thursday thru Saturday. I recommend making reservations this place is smaller and has few seats. The menu is inventive and fresh. Some foodie plates for those of you that want to expand your palette and some go tos for those of you that would never eat 'that'. What ever that may be.  We started with a bottle of red wine a Pinot Nior recommended by our sever.  Two appetizers a Trio plate of dips with homemade chips and pickled vegetables. We also had a Fig and
