The Geek Side of Me

By a raise of hands how many of you are "mobile geeks"? Did you really just raise your hand? I hope not. Well, I have no shame in telling you that I am! I love all tech and all the geek that comes along with it. Im new to the technology world of selling, less than 5 years. And while that may sound bad to some, others would say, "good means you have no bad habits". The world of mobile has changed drastically over the last few years. Ill go over a few highlights in case you have been in a cave somewhere. The hype of the "Phablet" is at an all high. Between Apple and Samsung they have not only changed the way we look at our phones, such as how much we spend on them and how often, to what abilities we require in them. Examples, without Samsung we would not have the size of the phones we do. Lets be honest who would have thought we would be going backwards in how big they are. Also, when was the last time you carried a camera in your pocket along ...

Dinner at Home Can Be Great

I love a Sunday dinner as I'm sure you do. Growing up my family would get together and make dinner, the smells of my favorite food all in the air. The sounds of the men in the back room watching TV. As a little girl I never understood why my grandmother and mother would do it. All the stress and all the clean up. But as I grew I learned that they enjoyed it. All of it. From the prep (sometimes the night before) to the smiles on our faces and the talk at the table. They enjoyed every minute!   And now I try to do this as often as I can in my own home. Now my house rarely has the amount of people it did as a child. But, I feel that Sunday dinner is still very important.  So here we are. It's Sunday and the air is crisp you can tell the change in season is happening. A glass of wine and an open window for a breeze is all you want.  I love a meatball. Might be abovious by the title of my blog, but I do I love a meatball.  A traditional meatball should have a perfect...

Seven Lamps a hidden gem in Buckhead

We can all agree if you live in Atlanta that this summer has been pretty fantastic for weather. So to enjoy the summer nights as best I could I headed over to Buckhead and decided I would try a new place.  So here I am driving through a parking lot and off to the right tucked behind the storefronts was a little patio with covered tables. I pulled in and walk up to the front desk. Asked the girl if we could sit outside and off we went.  You have a choice between family style tables or little metal cafe tables. There are a few chairs you can sit in and have a cocktail or glass of wine.  We sat at the table and immediately had water brought over. I ordered a Rose' and my date a beer. I think it was called Naked Pig. He loved it!  The chef serves a pickled plate instead of bread. All done in house and soooo tasty. The menu is innovative. Local farm to table meals. The menu changes daily based on what is available. I was told the produce was sold by Farmer Dan...you can't...

Johnny's Hideaway Should Just Hide!

Now I will start with this...it was my boyfriends 40th birthday and he loves this place and while the server was great let me set the scene a little for you. Number 1 if you under the age of 50 you are no the demo for this place and the managers (by the way there are a couple) don't care for you then. The place is over stuffed with tables and chairs and little room to move, that have been in that bar since 1970.  You have to pay to valet and there is no other option. And they only take cash so prepare yourself for that one! Number 2 it turns out in this crap bar that wouldn't know an update if someone smacked them in the face with it. Including their food and drink options. They have a dress code yes I said it a dress code!! Now it's not posted on their web site...but there is a sign on the front door. Turns out you can't have writing on your shirt. Not a logo name brand nothing! Now I'm all for dress up on a night and had they stuck to this in all aspects I would r...

Food in Atlanta is at it's best FLIP and Urbana

After a week of eating like I was 24 again I can let you all know I will be working out everyday moving forward. However, to start my summer I went out for dinner during Buckhead Restaurant Week. I picked FLIP which by far is a favorite of mine. It's Wednesday night in Atlanta it's hot and sunny and what did I need well of course a burger and shake. Go no where else but FLIP in Buckhead. We walked right in before the rush of dinner and sat out on the patio. I ordered a new drink they have for summer (they have a new menu for each season) a Peach Sangria  it was sweet and so cool. I loved it served with an over flow of dry ice for a smoke effect I loved every sip.  We started with the fried app sampler. It has vodka battered Onion rings, sweet potato tater tots and French fries. And of course all the sauces you may need. My favorite is the Blue Cheese foam.  My date ordered the Chorizo burger with a fried egg on top. I decided to order the burger of the month it's a beef b...

A weekend in Blue Ridge Ga

I can tell you that it has been years since I've taken some time away for my self. Not to visit family but a true weekend away. And I was surprised this past weekend by my boyfriend to do so.  He book a cabin in Blue Ridge Ga at My Mountain cabin rentals. It was beautiful! The mountains are lovely this time of year we had a great cabin at the top of the mountain on the end of the road. It was a three story cabin with two room an open floor plan and a game room. It had two patios and a fantastic hot tub over looking the view.  We spent out first night grilling steaks and drinking cocktails on the patio. Music playing in the background and a beautiful sun set we could not have asked for more.  Saturday morning we got up early and went in to town. There is a downtown area off Main st. You can shop here and even eat and drink. Even with the rain we walked up and down from store to store shopping and enjoying the day. I bought a new leash and collar for my dog in a boutique fo...
