Seven Lamps a hidden gem in Buckhead

We can all agree if you live in Atlanta that this summer has been pretty fantastic for weather. So to enjoy the summer nights as best I could I headed over to Buckhead and decided I would try a new place.
So here I am driving through a parking lot and off to the right tucked behind the storefronts was a little patio with covered tables. I pulled in and walk up to the front desk. Asked the girl if we could sit outside and off we went.
You have a choice between family style tables or little metal cafe tables. There are a few chairs you can sit in and have a cocktail or glass of wine.
We sat at the table and immediately had water brought over. I ordered a Rose' and my date a beer. I think it was called Naked Pig. He loved it!
The chef serves a pickled plate instead of bread. All done in house and soooo tasty. The menu is innovative. Local farm to table meals. The menu changes daily based on what is available. I was told the produce was sold by Farmer Dan...you can't make this stuff up. He apparently is famous among the restaurants here in Atlanta.
The menu is 'taste' size this means dishes can be served in half size or full. And is perfect for sharing.
We started with meatballs and house sausage. The meatballs are moist and flavorful. And the homemade sausage was great just enough salt and spice. And of course when you can you should order an oyster! Cold and raw with a little homemade hot sauce.
I then ordered the heirloom tomatoe salad. It changed my foodie life! Aged balsamic vinegar warmed the tomatoes on the plate like a first kiss. And had a brushing of olive oil that felt like a hug.  Then fresh peaches and a cream fresh topped the whole salad off like you would put on your favorite lip gloss after your first dates kiss! The combination changed the way I look at the little tamtoe. Never again will I take them for granted.
I also had a stuffed pasta dish w lobster and chiles. That was so good I would have told you my grandmother made them. If she was a world class chef and had the idea to make this combination happen...alas the heat of the chiles was perfect with the cream sauce.
I love to find new places around town and only living in Atlanta a short time I can tell you this happens a lot for me. But  even if you lived her for 10 years you could find a new place every night. So get out in the city and support a local chef and their dream! I promise you all your foodie dreams will come true!

Kula the Revolving Sushi Bar

If I say Sushi, what would you say? YES! Is the only correct answer.  I had the pleasure of eating at the newest Sushi place in Doraville this week, called  Kula  it is an international brand, with 400 restaurants in Japan and this is the 13th revolving sushi bar in the US. They have places in California, Texas, and now Georgia.  Hosted by Davo Eda, the Public Relations Manager, he was so kind to invite me in to see the new place. He even let me bring a friend, so of course I brought my favorite lady Callie, to help me eat and take pictures.  We were introduced to Mr. Fresh, it is the plate holder for the conveyor belt, "he" holds the green plates of food and treats. There was a tutorial of how to grab the food from the belt, as well as how to order from the menu and dispose of your plates. Mr. Fresh keeps the food germ free, has a chip in it for timing and every 2 hours he lets a specialists know it is time to throw the food out. This ...

Oven Roasted Lemon Chicken

Happy Tasty Tuesday to all my followers. I hope you enjoyed the videos on how to break down a chicken. I'll start posting more videos to help with tips and tricks.  Sunday dinners are a big thing at our house and even more during Game of Thrones! I made a roasted chicken this week it was juicy and perfect for a Sunday night and you may not believe me it's not a hard item to cook.  What you will need:  1 whole chicken 5-6 lbs  1 lemon  1/2 cup butter cold  Herbs  Salt and pepper  Carrots  Potatoes  Onion Garlic 1 cup white wine  Corn starch  Take the chicken out of the packaging and clean the chicken. Then rub the butter all over the chicken under the skin and inside t...
