The 2 of Hearts

Being single in the world today is unusual to say the least. Lets begin with you cant met a good guy at a bar, so you go on line. This is the new way of love. You sign up on a few to spread the wealth around.  I wont name any but we all know the popular ones. But to this day the best place to met a guy is on Facebook. Got to love all that you can connect with through your friends list or better yet your FRIENDS friends list. So here we go! Ive been on Facebook for years, I have enough friends not to many or to little. A mix of family and friends from the present and the past. And of course the few people I follow for all kinds of reasons. I decided after a night of drinking (not my best decision) to reach out to one of these old friends of mine. Something had made me think of him, so we exchange a few texts and that leads to a call or two. It turns out we have a lot in common.

Have you ever watched someone get in to something and the whole time you think this is going to end badly and we should say something but you dont. Have you ever looked in the mirror and said that to your self? Maybe I should start to listening  to that voice in my head.

I feel in love with a Magician, this man makes his living convincing us we see what HE wants us to! So he sets the bait. Puts the force in motion and I pick the card! The Magic man played me. Puts out only what he wants me to see and hear. Shows me his "whole deck" but yet I dont see that the deck is stacked. I see what he wants me to because he is a Magic Man, and is the best at what he does. He calls before I lose hope, he text the right thing at the right time. And then the moment happens right before the final trick is done. The moment where I say to myself I will not believe this! He cant be that good. Ive seen better! And then and only then he performs the greatest trick of all LOVE. What is this? Its the word every girl wants to hear the man on the other side of the phone say LOVE. He now has pulled me in I hand him over every dark secret I have. I have only one final thing to hand over before I give him everything, before I give myself to him completely. And then I fall, I fall for it all! Now he has me and every trick he shows me from now forward I believe. And even though the tricks aren't as good as the trick of LOVE I cant tell.  I crave more small or big it does not matter I need more every day.

Then this Magic Man decides its time for his best trick, the trick of disappearance. Since this is going to be his final trick he must time it just right. He has gotten all he can from his current audience. SO now its time for him to move on to the next show. He looks for the right moment when I am vulnerable my most loving moment. He pulls off the greatest trick ever. He disappears with such gusto and grandeur.  I only notice when he steps off stage that the trick was the best Ive seen, better than even something Ive seen in Vegas. I look up and he is gone. I sit holding my head in my hands. Shocked and amazed all at the same time, I look down at my table and there it is...the 2 of hearts the card is mine to remind me of him forever. And now till the next time I fall for love I will continue to play the game with out a full deck! Always keeping the card as a reminder to not fall for the tricks that the magic men of life show us. The trick of love.

JCT Kitchen and Sunday Supper

During the holiday season Derek and I decided to go back to JCT. We have been there before dinner and drinks for my birthday which was great!  Sunday Supper is a great idea the JCT does. A course menu for under $30. It's such a great idea! First things first, make a reservation while you can sit at the bar for dinner table side service is very nice and there is always a long wait! So please make a  reservation!  Second, get there early. This helps with two items one it's nice for the staff to have you checked in ahead of time for seating rotation. Two you can sit at the bar and get a craft cocktail from one of the knowledgeable bartenders.  So we sit down and order our meal. Everyone starts with homemade biscuits and jam. And a course of devil eggs. Our biscuits came out late due to running out (they are that good) and the first round of the biscuits where over cooked but replaced quickly! The eggs are fantastic all what you need and just like moms only a lot better!...

Seven Lamps a hidden gem in Buckhead

We can all agree if you live in Atlanta that this summer has been pretty fantastic for weather. So to enjoy the summer nights as best I could I headed over to Buckhead and decided I would try a new place.  So here I am driving through a parking lot and off to the right tucked behind the storefronts was a little patio with covered tables. I pulled in and walk up to the front desk. Asked the girl if we could sit outside and off we went.  You have a choice between family style tables or little metal cafe tables. There are a few chairs you can sit in and have a cocktail or glass of wine.  We sat at the table and immediately had water brought over. I ordered a Rose' and my date a beer. I think it was called Naked Pig. He loved it!  The chef serves a pickled plate instead of bread. All done in house and soooo tasty. The menu is innovative. Local farm to table meals. The menu changes daily based on what is available. I was told the produce was sold by Farmer Dan...you can't...

Nuevo Laredo Cantina best Mexican in town

Nothing better on a bright and sunny afternoon than a margarita on the rocks and some good company. So this week I decided to go on an adventure and check out Nuevo Laredo Cantina located at 1495 Chattahoochee Ave NW, Atlanta, GA 30318. It's a great little hidden spot in Atlanta that has some of the best Mexican food you can find!  Walked in and got a table in the main dinning   area. Where you will find decor that is Charming and funny. Lots of pictures and some great signs! Chips and fresh salsa hit the table first. The chips are warm and salsa is fresh and spicy! The server came on and took out orders. We ordered margaritas on the rocks w salt now I will tell you the drink to order is the Cadillac margarita it's big and fantastic, but it was a week day so I went with the smaller one still as tasty just smaller!  The serve them by the glass or pitcher and prices start at $6.50.  Now I will have to let you in on a secret if mine.
