Hob Nob Opening in Brookhaven

Exciting news in Brookhaven, for all of us that have been traveling in to Midtown for brunch for years, things are changing. As you drive around in the BuHi area you will see a resurgence of new restaurants and businesses. The newest one to join us is HobNob, a tavern food and craft beer restaurant, located in Town Brookhaven, you will enjoy the wrap patio and use of garage doors. Seating for 180 guests inside and 75 on the patio, the blend of inside and out will allow you to enjoy all the sunny days here in Georgia.

If you have been to the location in Midtown, you will still have the same feeling of the original. The owners of the now restaurant chain have made yet another wonderful place to relax and have a good time with your friends and family. They plan on having live music, brunch specials, and a rotating draft selection, just like the original location. And don't forget about the boardgames, it is the best way to spend time and get to know your loved ones a little better.

I had the ability to attend the Friends and Family event, and opening night. Seeing the new restaurant, eat some of my favorite foods and test the draft beer selection. Our group enjoyed the selection of craft beer, I don't have to tell anyone reading this that Georgia has some amazing beer. HobNob makes sure they have the latest and greatest. From IPA's, to ales, to the ever tasty sours, the selection was perfect for summer weather.

I loved the open feeling of the bar area, the garage doors give a nice way to enjoy the sunny day from the comfort of your air conditioned table. The bartenders and servers answered questions, offered samples if needed of beer, and made some amazing mix cocktails. I started with my favorite Victory Golden Monkey, I loved they kept this on the list of draft beers. They will also be offering boozy milk shakes, and specialty mimosa drinks.

They offered a selection of tastings from the menu, our table started with the cheese sauce and dipped the seasoned steak fries and salty pretzels in to it. The fries are my favorite, and the cheese sauce was delicate and warm. I personally could take more heat in it, but, I am normally alone in the need for spice.
They also handed out samples of the New Generation Duck nachos, Drunken Fish and Chips, Lamb Meatballs, Smoked Pork Belly Lollipops, and Fried Shrimp. They also will be serving customer favorites, Pig and Grits, Beer Battered Chicken Tenders, and OMG Hot Pocket.

Live music and daily specials, Trivia on Tuesdays, Slider Night, BBQ Thursdays, Brunch for the Sunday Funday crowd, and a Kids for Kids charity fundraiser offer something for everyone.

Now for the details we really want to know, the bathroom was clean and spacious, the staff was very friendly, and the live music was great.

I recommend stopping in for a drink at the bar, watch a game on one of the many TV's and ordering your self some Wake and Bake pizza. If you see Sean, while you are in the restaurant say hello, he is friendly and loves to talk to the guests of his restaurant.  He might even sit down and join you for a beer.

Kula the Revolving Sushi Bar

If I say Sushi, what would you say? YES! Is the only correct answer.  I had the pleasure of eating at the newest Sushi place in Doraville this week, called  Kula  it is an international brand, with 400 restaurants in Japan and this is the 13th revolving sushi bar in the US. They have places in California, Texas, and now Georgia.  Hosted by Davo Eda, the Public Relations Manager, he was so kind to invite me in to see the new place. He even let me bring a friend, so of course I brought my favorite lady Callie, to help me eat and take pictures.  We were introduced to Mr. Fresh, it is the plate holder for the conveyor belt, "he" holds the green plates of food and treats. There was a tutorial of how to grab the food from the belt, as well as how to order from the menu and dispose of your plates. Mr. Fresh keeps the food germ free, has a chip in it for timing and every 2 hours he lets a specialists know it is time to throw the food out. This technology helps cut dow

A relationship is like a good chili

On a cold day I love nothing more than a nice bowl of chili. Im sure most of us feel the same. I love getting fresh veggies and a great lean meat and making it myself, letting it cook most of the morning so I have something to warm my belly at night. My chili has lots of layers of flavor to it and changes depending on the products I have available to me at the market.         As I was making chili this week I was thinking about my current single status. And I started laughing...relationships and chili are very similar. Im sure I am not the only person that has thought of this, but I instantly decided this was going to be my next topic! So here we go!         My chili recipe calls for a large pot (I like a dutch oven), to start. I place it on a medium high heat and add oil. I have chopped up a larger white onion and a few cloves of garlic. I add this in and let it cook down till tender. I then add my peppers, now you can chose how hot you want your chili I personally like a spic

Goodbye to a Friend

I'm There are times in your life where it seems you are at someone's going away party. Friends get new jobs, they marry, or even leave for school. All kinds of reasons for a move. Some friends you throw a party some friends you take to a bar and some its a nice dinner. My friend Laurie is moving out of state for a new job. I wanted to give her a foodie night out so I did some research and found a new place Endive Publik House at 1468 Mecaslin St NW, Atlanta, GA 30309.  It's new opened in March and is only open Thursday thru Saturday. I recommend making reservations this place is smaller and has few seats. The menu is inventive and fresh. Some foodie plates for those of you that want to expand your palette and some go tos for those of you that would never eat 'that'. What ever that may be.  We started with a bottle of red wine a Pinot Nior recommended by our sever.  Two appetizers a Trio plate of dips with homemade chips and pickled vegetables. We also had a Fig and
