Spend Some Time in Nashville

Living in Atlanta does offer the ability to travel to many of the South's great cities by car. A few hours in a car with friends and you can have a mini vacation without the stress of the airport.
My friends and I decided to take some time and drive up to Nashville, is under 4 hours from us and the group was split between the 'been there before' and the 'my first time'. First, we rented a big dang truck! Large suitcases and all! Bluetooth the phone for all the music needs of the group and off we went!
We landed in Nashville early enough to drop the bags make a change and get off to dinner! We started the night at Tavern. A local place with a fresh menu and a large selection of craft beer and cocktails.  Not bad prices a little high however the sever was excellent! We then headed out in to the bars. There are several within walking distance of our hotel. We stayed near Broadway and Division so lots to walk to. Sliders had live music cheap beer and great service. This is a must stop in place! I love a $3 PBR!
Now so that you know the night clubs around the area on both sides of the coin. You have your country live music ones and your DJ ones. We split out time to both. I want to give you some of my top ones!
First, Play this place is huge with a couple rooms in it for different music but what I loved I have to tell you was the Drag show! Saturday night tickets started at $10 and there are several show times. Seating is limited and first come first serve so get ready to hawk for a table. But these ladies have some talent and come from all over the country! Check out their website for details. playdancebar.com
My second choice was Canvas, it would most likely be put in the dive bar category but it is far from that! Great bartenders great drinks and every night there is something going on. They have a karaoke night a DJ and even some theme nights! We loved it! The owner Derek was so nice and welcoming and so was his staff. It's deffently the place I would go to again and again! Canvaslounge.net is where you can go to check out what the bar has to offer. We used the hotel shuttle and Uber to get around but if you pick the right hotel most of it can be walked to which helps the pocket!
On that note we did drive in to town and walk Music row, see the Opry hotel and the Grande Ol Opry. Take some time and do the same. We came on a cold cold weekend but if you are here when it's nice riverside was pretty and they even have some bikeng rolling bars! You petal and drink w friends look liked fun!
Well I hope I gave you some ideas and that you check out you not so local cities around you! You might be surprised at the fun you will have. Go make some memories!

Kula the Revolving Sushi Bar

If I say Sushi, what would you say? YES! Is the only correct answer.  I had the pleasure of eating at the newest Sushi place in Doraville this week, called  Kula  it is an international brand, with 400 restaurants in Japan and this is the 13th revolving sushi bar in the US. They have places in California, Texas, and now Georgia.  Hosted by Davo Eda, the Public Relations Manager, he was so kind to invite me in to see the new place. He even let me bring a friend, so of course I brought my favorite lady Callie, to help me eat and take pictures.  We were introduced to Mr. Fresh, it is the plate holder for the conveyor belt, "he" holds the green plates of food and treats. There was a tutorial of how to grab the food from the belt, as well as how to order from the menu and dispose of your plates. Mr. Fresh keeps the food germ free, has a chip in it for timing and every 2 hours he lets a specialists know it is time to throw the food out. This technology helps cut dow

A relationship is like a good chili

On a cold day I love nothing more than a nice bowl of chili. Im sure most of us feel the same. I love getting fresh veggies and a great lean meat and making it myself, letting it cook most of the morning so I have something to warm my belly at night. My chili has lots of layers of flavor to it and changes depending on the products I have available to me at the market.         As I was making chili this week I was thinking about my current single status. And I started laughing...relationships and chili are very similar. Im sure I am not the only person that has thought of this, but I instantly decided this was going to be my next topic! So here we go!         My chili recipe calls for a large pot (I like a dutch oven), to start. I place it on a medium high heat and add oil. I have chopped up a larger white onion and a few cloves of garlic. I add this in and let it cook down till tender. I then add my peppers, now you can chose how hot you want your chili I personally like a spic

Goodbye to a Friend

I'm There are times in your life where it seems you are at someone's going away party. Friends get new jobs, they marry, or even leave for school. All kinds of reasons for a move. Some friends you throw a party some friends you take to a bar and some its a nice dinner. My friend Laurie is moving out of state for a new job. I wanted to give her a foodie night out so I did some research and found a new place Endive Publik House at 1468 Mecaslin St NW, Atlanta, GA 30309.  It's new opened in March and is only open Thursday thru Saturday. I recommend making reservations this place is smaller and has few seats. The menu is inventive and fresh. Some foodie plates for those of you that want to expand your palette and some go tos for those of you that would never eat 'that'. What ever that may be.  We started with a bottle of red wine a Pinot Nior recommended by our sever.  Two appetizers a Trio plate of dips with homemade chips and pickled vegetables. We also had a Fig and
